MR Slice Pizza - Negril Jamaica!

The Park Foundation

The Park was established in 19__ and leased to the Norman Manley Beach Park Foundation on ___, 2004. The Foundation is dedicated to bringing the Park back to the forefront of Negril recreation and entertainment. This venue should be the focal point of the community’s support of spring break tourism. And, it is the perfect resource to foster longer term relationships with college campuses and young tourists creating repeat visitors and expanding Negril’s visibility in colleges and universities throughout the United States. The "Beach Park" is a natural "Party Central" for spring break programs. It has available space for orientation sessions and group recreational activities (basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc). It is located away from hotel sleeping rooms to make the perfect venue for late night concerts and parties.

Current Improvements and Mission

The Foundation has brought in Mr. Slice Pizza and opened a restaurant that also features local cuisine. A full bar is now open every day until late hours. The Foundation is now operating and maintaining support facilities that are already in place, such as toilets, showers, music and public address system, basketball court and the restaurant. Plans are underway to install long distance phone call stations, cable televisions, bandstand and additional vendors.

Our mission is two fold: To be the 24 hour/ 48 day party central for spring breakers and; To build lasting relationships with colleges, universities and students building a network that fosters and grows future repeat tourism among those that come here for the first time as students.

Delivering the Message

The most important component of this plan is Community Support and Involvement! We want a message to be loud and clear to visiting students: "Negril welcomes you now, and in the future!" The Beach Park is a unique vehicle to carry this message. With endorsements from community organizations, we can show these young travelers that it is not just their hotel that the welcome them, but all of Negril Jamaica. That warm hospitality will be long remembered and naturally will attracted them back as they get older and seek great places to vacation. So, while we provide a "Party Central," we also deliver the community’s message about how we will welcome them back, thereby growing tomorrow’s tourism market.

Current Support

In addition to the Norman Manley Beach Park Foundation, Mr. Slice Pizza, a local icon for over seven years, is solidly behind this effort to revitalize the Beach Park. GDS Hospitality Marketing is also contributing effort to the project. The Beach Park is an important asset to Negril, not just because of its natural beauty, but because of its natural role to promote future tourism. As we revitalize the park, we also enhance our own local enjoyment of this public resource.
